Based in Kapan, Kathmandu, Nuptse Craft manufactures and exports high quality, hand-made felt products and specialize in baby room decors, felt purses, interior decors, kitchen mats, ball mats, pet toys, and scarves. Our products only use 100% sheep wool and azo-free chemical dye.

Humble Beginnings

Established as Friends Handicrafts in 2001 with just ten female employees, Nuptse Craft is run by Shanti Shrestha and her daughter Keepa Shrestha.

What started off as a small venture, now employs more than 100 women of various backgrounds, and our products can be found in Denmark, the USA, Netherlands, Sweden, Australia, Canada and other countries around the world. We have a large set of repeat clients, and have a strong reputation in the industry.

Ending Urban Poverty Through Empowerment

At Nuptse Craft we work towards ending urban poverty by empowering underprivileged women. We do this through skills-training and income-generation programs for our employees.

As a social enterprise, it is our priority to ensure a fair and sustainable working environment for all our artisans. Hence, our profit sharing model allows us to give back to our 100+ artisans.
